Hatem Bazian is Senior Lecturer in Arabic Language in the Department of Near Eastern Studies, University of California, Berkeley. A specialist in philosophy, Islamic studies, and Arabic language, Dr. Bazian has also served as Adjunct Professor at the Boalt School of Law and has taught at Saint Mary’s College and Zaytuna College. He teaches courses on Islamic law and society, Islam in America, Middle Eastern Studies, and Arabic language. In 2009, he founded the Center for the Study and Documentation of Islamophobia.
