David A. Hollinger
David A. Hollinger is the Preston Hotchkis Professor in the Department of History at the University of California, Berkeley. He specializes in the intellectual and ethno-racial history of the United States since the Civil War. He is author of Cosmopolitanism and Solidarity: Studies in Ethnoracial, Religious, and Professional Affiliation in the United States (2006); Postethnic America: Beyond Multiculturalism (2006); Science, Jews, and Secular Culture: Studies in Mid-Twentieth Century American Intellectual History (1996); and In the American Province: Studies in the History and Historiography of Ideas (1989). He is coeditor of The American Intellectual Tradition: A Source Book (2010); and Reappraising Oppenheimer: Centennial Studies and Reflections (2005). Prof. Hollinger is President of the Organization of American Historians.
