Mormons and Prop 8

Matthai Kuruvila, the Religion and Spirituality Reporter for the San Francisco Chronicle, and one of the media panelists at the conference, recently published an article on the controversy surrounding Mormon support for Proposition 8. Kuruvila notes that,
The church largely stays out of politics. But in this case, the Salt Lake City-based church has sent letters, held video conferences and in church meetings asked for volunteers to support the campaign. In response, some church members have poured in their savings and undertaken what may be an unprecedented grassroots mobilization for the effort.
We hope his article, and the conference presentations help provide a nuanced perspective in advance of this year's elections.
